The folks over at AWN are showcasing the animated films up for an Oscar this year. They show short clips from most films along with stills and a synopsisenough to give you taste of each film.
Sadly, the films cannot be viewed in their entirety, but that comes as no surprise. As you likely know, most all of the major festivals (I don’t know of any that don’t) consider any form of digital distribution an automatic disqualifier for a film, thus making it next to impossible to even be considered for an Oscar nomination. A shame considering the many great films now being published online. I expect this restriction will one day be revoked. (of course the exception that proves this rule is This Way Up)
