We began taking submissions back in November 2010 as a way for filmmakers to launch their film online, find an audience, and connect with the industry. Since then we’ve steadily seen the rate of submissions rise until we simply couldn’t keep up with the pace. This meant great films were sometimes lost in the noise.

Introducing Premium Submissions!

Premium submissions are a guaranteed way to get your film in front of Short of the Week.

As filmmakers, we asked ourselves what we would want in a service. We’ve submitted films to hundreds of festivals and have always had three main issues: (1) the high cost (2) the long wait (and you often never hear back) and (3) the lack of explanation as to why your film was accepted or declined (was there an issue with the DVD?)

With Premium submissions we want to do it right. This means a price well below the average festival submission fee. It also means getting back to filmmakers quickly. And finally, offering specific feedback from the Short of the Week team.

Basic Submissions

We will continue to offer a free submission tier, but as before, we can’t promise we’ll view your film. If that’s the route you take, be sure to entice us with a juicy description.

Top Ten Short Films of 2017 - Serafima Serafimova

Serafima Serafimova / London Contributor As a filmmaker, self-confessed Vimeo addict and lover of Short of the Week, I came dangerously close to having a stroke when Jason Sondhi (THE Jason Sondhi) got in touch with me 12 months ago, asking to have a chat. Fast forward a few weeks and I was part of a team I had been admiring for years, watching some incredible shorts and getting paid for it too! Yes, it really is as good as it sounds.
