Via a live streaming broadcast beginning at 5:30 am where I am, this year’s Oscar nominees were announced. I ended up hitting snooze and missed it, but I had an inkling that the information maybe—just maybe, would not be that hard to find at a more sane hour of the day.  Sure enough I’ve uncovered the nominees for Short Film. Chances of seeing these online are slim. The Live-action and Documentary Short Subject films are almost never online before the ceremony, but we’ll stay on the lookout for you. You can generally find bootleg versions of the Animation nominees, and this year is no exception, with The Lost Thing, being the only one I haven’t uncovered. However out of respect for the artists, I won’t provide links. You can see one of the nominees right now in legitimate form, Madagascar, carnet de voyage, which we’ve reviewed on the site before,  and of course you can catch the live-action and animation nominees for sale in the iTunes store via Shorts International starting on February 14th. Magnolia and Shorts International will also continue their much-loved U.S. theater tour beginning Feb. 11th. We’ll update you on that when the schedule is released. Short Film (Animation):
