The action-packed 3D short Ruin has reportedly been picked up by Fox to be made into a live-action feature in a healthy six figure deal. Sound familiar? Just 6 months ago 20th Century Fox picked up another action-driven 3D animation Rosa under similar circumstances. And like Rosa, the original creator behind the short—Wes Ball—is attached to direct the feature.

With every data point like this it becomes more apparent that Hollywood is paying close attention to what strikes a chord with online audiences.
