Money can be hard to come by for short filmmakers, but ScreenCraft is looking to change that.

They’re announcing a short film production grant that is now taking short film screenplay submissions. Grants will range from $10,000 to $20,000 and be handed out quarterly with up to 10 in a given year.

The program will select short screenplays on the basis of originality, story, characterization, and visual inventiveness. The program will also provide consulting packages to the selected projects, giving guidance for production, crowd-funding, festival strategy and distribution opportunities, as well as assisting in bringing together creative teams and in-kind resources.

ScreenCraft is a media company and screenplay development consultancy based in LA dedicated to helping screenwriters and filmmakers through competitions, content and educational events. BondIt, the backer, has been involved in the financing of over 100 feature films including 31 (directed by Rob Zombie), The Invitation (SXSW 2015 winner), Wild Horses (starring Robert Duvall & James Franco), and the TV-hit Sharknado series.
