Here in the US, the second Monday in October presents us with the opportunity to recognize the Indigenous communities that have lived in the Americas for thousands of years and the immeasurable positive impact that they have made on every aspect of American society. And here at Short of the Week we’re doing it the only way we know how – with of collection of short films focused on Indigenous stories.

Over the years, we’ve shared a number of relevant short films on Indigenous Peoples’ Day – from the story of a family trying to reconnect with their Lakota heritage to the journey of a 20-year-old from Lower Nicola First Nation looking to battle his mental health demons through running – so this year we’ve decided to bring them all together, adding a few new titles along the way, in one, easily-referenced playlist.

If we’ve missed any important stories. Let us know in the comments below.
