I have proclaimed my love for that most democratic and web-radical of film festivals, Tropfest, on numerous occasions. You can read the review and watch last year’s winner, Marry Me, on our site, and Mankind Is No Island, was a favorite of 2008.

2009’s Austalian TropFest concluded at the end of February, and the festival’s slow transition to Youtube has also concluded. For the first time all 16 of the finalists are available as a playlist, in the Tropfest Youtube channel.

Be My Brother by Genevieve Clay, a worthy choice, took home the prize, but there is plenty of other good short films in there. Let us know in the comments which ones are your favorites.
