A new Thursday, a new set of Sundance shorts. This is the second of three batches of 2011 in-competition shorts that Sundance is sharing via the YouTube Screening Room, and the fourth of five short programs.
Sundance is right around the corner, and we're excited! For the fifth year running we will be covering the festival's online program, this year sponsored by YouTube again after last year's stint at Yahoo!. But, with the ever-growing reach, power and legitimacy of online video, once again we've noticed that there is a healthy selection of content picked for Sundance that is available to watch right now! Sundance has been a pioneer in destigmatizing short film's online, doing away with all their premiere restrictions a few years ago.
Sundance is here! Yours truly will be attendance for the first time, but, as it's been for the last 6 years, all of you at home can partake in the excitement too through the Sundance Online Short Film Program. After a two year collaboration with YouTube, the festival has moved to giant content portal Yahoo! and their relatively new video platform Yahoo! Screen.
A cherished tradition, every year Sundance releases a selection of short films from their competition lineup onto the internet for the duration of the fest. It is an excellent way for fans at home to connect with the goings on, and for short film fans in particular, a great way to spy some of the year's top shorts early in their festival run.
Now in it's fifth iteration and for the second time at Picturehouse Central in the heart of England's capital, Sundance Film Festival London seems to be steadily growing in audience awareness and stepping out of the shadow of its US Big Brother.
